China is in the leading position of the world in research of antibacterial medical metals, and their applications are expected to effectively reduce the incidences of bacterial infections related to medical devices or implants, which has great clinical values. This article briefly introduces the innovative researches and preliminary applications of Cu-bearing antibacterial medical metals in China, and analyzes the opportunities and challenges in the future.
